Cutting Loose is cutting loose today! This is always a special time for me—the day my Oh-I-wish-I-wrote-faster-but-I-don’t-once-a-year-book finally hits the shelves! Seeing it out there, in a Borders or a Barnes & Noble, in a Safeway or a Kroger, is a thrill that never goes away. Doesn’t matter if it’s my first book or, as in this case, my 16th—its release day is the gift that keeps on giving. I’m going to admire it on the shelves in a city other than my own this year. I’m out the door tomorrow for San Francisco, where the 28th annual Romance Writers of America national conference is being held. This is my first year as a RITA finalist, and regardless if Coming Undone wins or loses, I’m planning on milking every moment of fun out of it. If you’re attending the conference as well, be sure to stop by the literacy signing to say hi. All the rest of you feel free to grab your copy of Cutting Loose and pull a lawn chair under a shade tree. Or, okay, on a blanket on the beach in the sun if you insist on exposing yourself to those aging rays. Just wear sunscreen, okay? Trust me. I’m on the down side of 50 and I’m here to tell ya: the damage will show up. But, hey, I’m not your mama. Pick your poison—how one indulges in RRC (reading, relaxation and chocolate) is probably as subjective as taste in books and music. Whatever your preference, I hope you’ll kick back and enjoy the first of my Sisterhood Diaries Trilogy. Jane and Dev’s story turned out reeeeal well, if I do say so myself. :) Happy Reading. ~ Susan
